Before this I only had your standard inflatable camp mattress and an ultralight inflatable matt.
This item is a much more luxury option than the mat for sure. It takes my camping sleep to the next level.
My other matt is somewhat comfy but I think I'm a side sleeper and like to roll around which there's not much room for that. Sometimes I would end up on the floor and shoulder discomfort.
Having a comfier option is vital for giving you motivation to get out there.
This didnt happen with the ul140. The contour on the edges helps keep you in. Aswell as it being one of the widest and cheapest options i could see aswell as not being too heavy but somewhat compact.
Its alot comfier and sturdier than a normal camping air mattress.
It doesn't lose air in the night.
Its pretty easy to inflate. The pump makes it easy, I haven't tried with my mouth yet. I think the pump makes it a little bulkier packed and heavyier.
I think I like the build in pillow.
I just added my trekology aloft inflatable pillow (great item aswell, it's good value, soft, light, compact, quiet and has a strap) and didn't inflate it too much which was kinda good but can make it a tiny bit wobbly.
You just gotta find the sweet spot. Maybe the build in pillow could be a little less high/plump or I've seen another mattress that had a separate pump adjustment for the built in pillow and matt separate so you could adjust one to your liking.
This could be a good tweak aswell as maybe trying without the footpump.
If it was more compact and lighter I would probably take it everytime for tent camping.
Maybe adding a bit of soft fabric too on the built-in pillow but not sure if that's viable.
It just about fit in my vango 2 man tent so pretty nice size for that, there's basically not much room to fall off which is good.
It may have been touching the top and bottom a little but which could be abit of a problem for a 1 skin tent for the rain getting in but I'm not sure.
I've seen a YouTuber say they believed it had a really high r value (insulation), which would make it a great 4 season option.
It would be good to know for sure? I didn't get cold when I used it in late spring anyway.
Overall probably the best value luxury tent mattress out there, especially for side sleepers.
Definitely try it out! An essential mattress to have in my arsenal.
Thanks again trekology! :)
